Question: How do Meteorologists predict hurricanes and how do they form?
Can anyone answer one or both of the answers in a really simple statement because these are the 2 things i need t finish my project and its for 8th grade so i dont need a fancy answer. THANKS!!

We look at observations and note where there is sufficiently warm ocean water, a low pressure area at the surface, and favorable winds in the atmosphere. Where all 3 of these exist hurricane formation can occur.
Hurricanes form as a result of the above conditions. The low becomes stronger as more showers and storms develop around the center of the low. The production of rain releases heat energy, and that is what a hurricane uses for strength. That is why they need to be over very warm ocean waters of at least 80°F. As more heat energy is released the pressure at the center falls, and the wind increases as a result.
